Does Noah’s Ark Still Exist?

From Randy:

This article seems like it was written by Gary DeMar, which also believes that the Church has replaced the nation of Israel as far as end-time prophecy is concerned!

The replacement theology is of the devil himself but as far as Noah’s ark is concerned, consider this in Matt 24:36 -44:

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,[e] but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour[f] your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Could it possibly be that just before the Lord returns Noah’s Ark is discovered as a sign of the times?  Just a thought, because the argument above is only from a position of NO FACTS!  And any position without the facts is a BAD position to be in!

Response:

First and foremost, I would like Frank to know that Gary DeMar had nothing to do with the article in question and Creation Revolution is a ministry within Tolle Lege Press, not American Vision.  Furthermore, I personally am not a preterist, even though some of those I am associated with are.

Secondly, I placed a disclaimer in my article that it was just an opinion piece and that I very well could just as wrong as I could be right.

May I ask if you consider any proposed theory that lacks facts to be a “BAD position”?  Then let me ask you a question.  Do you believe in biblical creation or evolution?  If so, what do you base your belief on?  Creationists and evolutionists both have the same FACTS, they just interpret them differently according to their beliefs.  Can we claim that there are facts that PROVE Creation?  Not really.  But we can say that they support our belief in creation.  The same is true about evolution as well.

Additionally, what is wrong with putting forth a theory that may or not be accurate?  Theories are designed to promote discussion and investigation.  Many theories are proven to be true or false.  However, many good theories are never proven right or wrong and remain theories for future generations to consider.

In all honesty, I would prefer to have some theories to work with than none.  No theories mean no advancement of knowledge, and I am not disposed to just sit and not ask questions and seek answers to the world around me or to the special revelation of God’s Word.

Evolution and the Law: “A Death Struggle Between Two Civilizations”

From Larry:

So according to this story, people are still under the belief that the world was created about 5000 years ago, and all of the carbon dating, and fossils, etc., are fake? And schools are told not to teach the fact that we are all part of Gods evolving plan that He put in motion hundreds of millions of years ago? I am saddened by the lack of common sense and good judgment being shown here. I love God and His creations…but I have common sense and scientific understanding as well.

Response:

Larry – From your last 2 comments, it appears that you do not understand the young-earth creationist view at all or have not ready very much about it. First and foremost, we believe the Word of God OVER the word of man. God’s Word says that He created everything about 6000 years ago. We do not believe that carbon dating or fossils are fake. A large part of the fossil record is a testimony to God’s judgment on the earth about 4500 years ago in the event that we call Noah’s Flood.

As for carbon dating and other radioisotope dating methods, they are based on a number of assumptions that are currently under question by a group of very well qualified and esteemed scientists. One of the major assumptions in carbon 14 dating is that the rate of radioactive carbon 14 production and decay has ALWAYS remained constant. Yet there is mounting evidence that these rates were drastically altered at the time of the Flood.

In addition, you say that carbon 14 cannot lie? Please go to http://creation.com/radiometric-dating-questions-and-answers and read some of the articles that show how inaccurate C14 and other dating methods can be when dating items of known age.

Here is something to consider. If God just set everything in motion after He created it millions of years ago, then you have to accept that death and disease and suffering were all part of that creation that was set in place. Then on Day 6 of Creation when God declares that EVERYTHING if VERY good, that death and disease are also very good. If death is very good, then how can you explain the many biblical references to it being a penalty for sin? More importantly, then why did Jesus Christ have to die on the Cross for the atonement of OUR sins? Any death before man, completely and utterly undermines the entire Gospel message of Jesus, birth, life, teachings, crucifixion and resurrection. Christianity completely collapses if there was death before sin.

Evolution vs Christianity: Survival of the Fit or Unfit

From Leonardo:

Unless somehow one passes one’s genetics on in heaven, your comparison is not applicable.

Response:

Leonardo – I believe you may have missed the entire gist of the article.  The real message of the article was to show that every person on earth is unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven.  Scripture makes it clear that we are all sinners and are condemned to eternal damnation.  The only way that we, the unfit, can be made fit enough to enter into heaven is through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ who died on the cross and paid the ultimate penalty for all of our sins.  The Bible also makes it clear that the only way to obtain salvation is to confess our sins and believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior.
