Mr. Jolly ,
Thnx again & may the grace of the Lord with you all, Amen.
I was just searching on the web about the loving God and suddenly i found your article & your comments.
I must say wow & thank you for this beautiful & encouraging exapmle of how a 92 years old atheist gave his heart to our Lord!
I was born in Persia (Iran), grown up as a moslim till my 14 then we came to Belgium & we heard about Jesus & me & all my family gave our heart to Lord Jesus the Messiah…
I’m almost 25 now & in these years i’ve experienced Christ & saw his wonderful works & i must say there is trully nothing more important & pleasant than to be with Jesus. He is the ONLY way to heaven !!!! Brethren, i ask you please to pray for the Persians & the break-down of the power of dark satanic islam religion that is ruling over Iran and also for the BELGIANS!!! They need Christ as much aswe do! Their heart is so hardened, much proud of their western philosophy & blind & deaf to hear & see the only truth!
Said – Thank you so very much for your kind words and for sharing your story with us.
As I was reading your testimony about being a Muslim as a youth and then finding and accepting Jesus Christ reminded me of a man that worked for me back in the early 1980’s.
At the time, I was a remodeling supervisor for a local chain of hardware – lumber stores in Arizona. When I went in to remodel a store, I would hire a crew of about 15-20 temporary employees to help me accomplish my task. One of the men I hired at a store in Chandler, Arizona told me about his background. His name was Habib and like you was a former Muslim from Persia (Iran). He was married and had three sons and worked as a physician in a prominent hospital in Tehran. He had become a doctor because he wanted to do whatever he could to save and preserve lives. The more he studied medicine, the more he saw the impossibility of man being the product of random chance evolution and that man had to have been created by a marvelous Creator God. At that time, he believed it to be Allah.
Habib’s sons were enrolled in a Muslim school for boys. He began to hear things from his sons that caused him great concern. They were being taught that anyone who was not a Muslim was an infidel and that as Muslims they had a responsibility to kill infidels, especially those from the United States. The more his sons were schooled, the stronger their hatred for infidels and Americans grew. Habib could not understand how a religion of peace could teach such hatred and ugliness to his children.
About that time, he had the opportunity to travel to America for six months of specialized training in a hospital. During his training, he found himself impressed with one of his fellow trainees. This American physician conducted himself like no one Habib had ever known. They soon became good friends. When Habib asked his friend about his behavior and positive attitude towards everyone and everything, his friend shared his faith in Jesus Christ with him. Being a Muslim, Habib was apprehensive at first, but his friend’s lifestyle and example so impressed him that he finally asked more about his Christian faith. Habib asked his Christian friend about how they see infidels or unbelievers. His friend shared with him that he prays for them and given the opportunity will share his faith in Christ with them like he had with Habib. Habib asked if the Christian faith taught children to hate infidels and kill them, his friend shared with him how Christ taught us to love our enemies as we love ourselves. This was shocking to Habib and became the turning point in his life. Several weeks later, he asked his friend to help him pray to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
A couple of months later, Habib returned home to Iran and his family. He knew that his Christian faith could cost him his career, family, friends and even his life, but he also knew that he had to share his good news with his wife. At first, she was horrified, but he continued to share Christ and Christianity with her. When he showed her in the Bible that Jesus taught that we should love our enemies and then pointed out how Islam was teaching their sons to hate and desire to kill their enemies, she also saw the need for Jesus and prayed to accept Christ.
It was then that Habib and his wife realized that they could no longer stay in Iran and live their Christian faith. The radical teachings of Islam prevailed in their families and in the hospital where he worked. Habib ended up spending over $90,000 U.S. to smuggle himself, his wife and sons out of Iran. It wasn’t long until he learned that both his and his wife’s families learned of their leaving the country and that they had become Christians. Both families immediately declared them to be traitors of Islam and asked that any and all Muslims should kill them for their actions. Hearing this, Habib and his family went into hiding and applied for political and religious asylum in the United States which was soon granted.
From being a wealthy doctor and living a life of luxury in their homeland of Iran, they found themselves almost destitute with little more than the clothes they were wearing. Habib applied to obtain his medical license in the U.S., but had no evidence of his educational and professional background. When the state sent for a copy of his records from the hospital in Tehran, they were informed that they had no information or knowledge of any doctor by that name. It turned out that the hospital had been told of his conversion to Christianity and consequently hid or destroyed all of his records as did the medical school in Tehran where Habib had studied.
At the time I met Habib, he had to work as a common laborer just to support his family. He was still trying to obtain copies of his education and professional records. I asked him if he had any regrets of his decision to become a Christian. I will never forget when he looked me in the eyes and told me that knowing what he did now, he would do it all over again because Jesus sacrificed his life for us, and he was willing to sacrifice his life for Christ in return.
Since this time, I have met a couple more Christians that were former Muslims and they all had similar stories. Every one of them had sacrificed everything for their Christian faith and had no regrets doing it.
I wonder how many American Christians would be willing to sacrifice everything they have, family, friends, jobs, homes, wealth, everything in the name of Christ?
Comments on “Was the Forbidden Fruit Really an Apple?”

If you want to know what the forbidden fruit really was, see this blog. “Eve loses her virginity to the Devil.”
Kevin – I checked out the blog that you recommended and have to say that I totally disagree with what the author says about Eve’s deception. For others, here is a quote from that blog:
The bible says that Eve was “beguiled” by satan. The word in the English means, “seduced.” It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand what it means when it says that Eve was seduced by satan. It means that Eve gave in and lost her virginity to the devil. She saw that the tree was good for food “pleasing to the eyes” and desirable to make one wise, so she “partook” of it. She was in the sense of the word seduced and became “obsessed” with this “forbidden fruit.” She could not get enough of it. She had become hooked on all the worldly pleasures that satan had to offer her.
This author is referring to Genesis 3:13 which states: And the Lord God said to the woman, Why hast thou done this? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. Most Bible translations use the word ‘decieved’ instead of ‘beguiled’, so I first went to the Hebrew text to see exactly what word was used and where else and how else it is used in the Old Testament. The Hebrew word used could be translated as ‘to seduce’ or ‘to deceive’.
The form of the word used in Genesis 3:13 is the same form as used in Jeremiah 49:16 which states: Thy fear, and the pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, and keepest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the Lord.
Similar forms of the root word are used in 2 Chronicles 32:15, 2 Kings 18:29; 19:10, and Jeremiah 4:10; 23:39; 29:8; 37:9. In all of these other verses, the word means ‘to deceive’. In none of these texts is there any indication of the word being used in a sexual connotation as implied by the author of the blog.
The blog author argues that the word ‘seduce’ is sexual in nature and thus indicates that Eve and Satan had sexual intercourse. However, there is no indication of that from the biblical text, nor in the use of the same word elsewhere in Scripture. Additionally, when I checked an English dictionary for the word ‘seduce’, I found the following four definitions:
1. to lead astray, as from duty, rectitude, or the like; corrupt.
2. to persuade or induce to have sexual intercourse.
3. to lead or draw away, as from principles, faith, or allegiance: He was seduced by the prospect of gain.
4. to win over; attract; entice: a supermarket seducing customers with special sales.
Notice that only one of the four definitions refers to a sexual nature. The other three definitions actually fit the usage in Genesis 3:13 along with the other verses referenced above.
Additionally, Genesis 4:1 states that: Afterward the man knew Eve his wife which
conceived and bare Cain, and said, I have obtained a man by the Lord. God tells us that Adam ‘knew’ his wife. This is a reference to the act of sexual intercourse. There is no such mention of the serpent or Satan ‘knowing’ of Eve in Genesis 3:13. Had it occurred, it would have been such an important aspect of the Fall that God surely would have told us.
Therefore there is nothing in Scripture to justify the blog author’s interpretation of what occurred in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:13. Furthermore, what makes this author believe that he has uncovered such an important event that no else has ever uncovered in the past 6000 years? Personally, I would categorized this blog along with other biblical myths and falsehoods and pay it no further attention.
